Temporal pulse point palpation, location, and nursing assessment demonstration.
As a nurse, you’ll be performing health assessments on your patients. One thing that we often assess is the pulse.
When assessing the temporal artery pulse point, you’ll want to note a few things, such as:
-the pulse rate (how fast is it?)
-the pulse strength (0-3 scale)
-the pulse rhythm (regular or irregular)
To find the temporal pulse, use landmarks. Find the tragus of the ear, as well as the zygomatic arch. The temporal pulse will be between these two areas.
As a nurse, you’ll be assessing the temporal pulse during your head-to-toe assessments.
