Pregnancy urinalysis demonstration using Chemstrip 2GP reagent test strips to test glucose and protein levels in the urine for pregnant women.
During pregnancy, it is important to check the glucose and protein levels in the urine to check for potential development of preeclampsia or gestational diabetes. This is usually done during your routine OB visits. However, due to the pandemic, many OB providers have offered online or phone visits to limit contact risks, and some pregnant women may be supplied with these test strips to check their urine at home. This was the case with Nurse Sarah’s pregnancy.
In this video, Nurse Sarah demonstrates how to use the Chemstrip 2GP strips to check the urine’s protein and glucose level, which you can then report to your OB provider during remote telephone (or online) visits.
As always, follow the manufacturer’s latest guidelines or instructions, and if you have any questions, please consult your OB provider.
