How to use a walker: Learn the appropriate way to walk (ambulate) with a walker.
In this video, Nurse Sarah demonstrates the proper way to walk with a walker so that you can educate patients on the proper technique and pass nursing school exams or NCLEX, especially when you are tested over assistive devices such as canes, walkers, and crutches.
To walk with a walker, the patient should be in position and holding the hand grips of the walker. Lift the walker forward, move the weak side, putting weight on the hand grips, and then move the strong side.
Watch the video for a visual demonstration and the exact steps for using this assistive device.
