Babinski reflex assessment (test) in a newborn / infant: Pediatric nursing clinical skills demonstration.
One of the important reflexes you’ll want to assess in a newborn baby is the Babinski reflex, also called a Babinski sign.

When the bottom of the foot is stroked (from the heel to the top), you will be able to assess this reflex in the infant / newborn. When tested, the big toe should lift up in a backwards motion (dorsiflex), while the other toes also flare out.
