IV insertion mistakes to avoid in nursing. IV cannulation can be tricky, and if you use the wrong technique when starting IVs, it can spell disaster for you or your patient.
In this video, Nurse Sarah explains some simple IV insertion mistakes to avoid. For example, if you fail to anchor the vein, it could easily shift (or “roll”) to the side, causing you to miss. If you don’t use the right angle, you could blow the vein, and so on.
